New Halleigh Pictures

| | Comments (7)

We haven't put up recent pictures of HJ lately, so here are several for you to enjoy.
She had her 6 month check-up today... she passed with flying colors. She is in the 60th percentile for weight, 40th percentile for height, and in the 20th percentile for head circumference.
We are about to introduce Halleigh to sweet potatoes, she doesn't really like bananas, but she LOVES rice cereal and tonight I gave her some peas and that was a roaring success... so far so good!
She is rolling over back to front and front to back and she loves playing with her toes. She is almost sitting up and working hard at learning how her arms and legs work to crawl; mostly though she just wiggles. An all-around healthy, happy, and curious 6-month old. Doing all the things that she should... and some things that she shouldn't, like constantly ripping Miles' glasses off his face, grabbing paper out of our hands and destroying it, knocking glasses of water all over Brooklynne as she tries to drink. She keeps is on our toes, and we are loving it. She has finally arrived at the stage where she will interact with us and play. She laughs, talks, and sometimes sings. Giggles and wiggles when we tickle her; we fall more in love with her everyday.
We have loved every stage that Halleigh has been through, but it seems like it just gets better and better.

NCAA and NIT Bracket Picks

| | Comments (7)

It's been less than 24 hours since the NCAA tournament seedings came out and I've already heard from several fans that UNC has once again earned the toughest bracket in the history of basketball. Not to make light of Tarheel concerns, but this belief has come to form a foundation of UNC fandom and ranks right up there with other myths to which the Carolina faithful often swear (i.e. that every shot Tyler Hansbrough misses is an obvious foul, etc.).

Summer is coming!

I talked to my brother, Ben, yesterday and we realized that in exactly three months they would be here. I am so excited that my dad, Taryn, Ben and the kids are coming to NC. We are going to spend a week at the beach and the weekend in Durham seeing all the sights. We are going to have so much fun. I can't wait for you guys to be here... I miss you!

Teething!

I think we have entered the full blown teething period. Halleigh is 5 1/2 months and drooling like crazy and for the last two days has been "babyzilla." We thought at first her cranky "ness" was from being worn out from our weekend trip to DC, but she was totally pampered yesterday, as I tried to get back into our normal routine, and again today, I made sure I did everything just right, and still she is ultra cranky. This is completely out of character for Halleigh, who is usually sweet, smiley, and fun; only crying when I am not getting what she wants fast enough.
So... why am I telling you all of this? HELP! I need some tried and true methods of relieving teething agony. I have read about freezing wet washcloths, and I have several teething toys (don't worry they are filled with distilled water, not the toxic goo they used to be filled with) that are in the refrigerator, I have a teething toy that vibrates when she chews on it, I have tried rubbing my fingers along her gums and she likes that for about a minute and then is mad again. Any other ideas? I am willing to try anything... if this is just the start, I don't know what I am going to do when it gets really bad.
