Birthing class

| | Comments (9)

Tonight was our first birthing class. It was good. Kind of like I expected it to be. We met lots of nice people and discussed in general terms alot of the typical issues that people deal with. I'm sure there will be more detail in subsequent sessions. My favorite part of the night was the end when we all got mats and we laid down and relaxed with quiet music playing in the background. If that's what giving birth is like, sign me up to be a doula!

One funny story... The instructor asked us what would help us relax after a stressful day at work. After a few weird responses, one guy said "a Miller Light." The Instructor, who evidently did not hear him well, replied, "I like to turn down the lights too." The guy next to me said, "I'd like to turn down the lights about six times."

Anyway, after 2 and a half hours of "expressing my feelings" about pregnancy, I felt the need to reestablish my manhood. So, Brooklynne challenged me to eat a BK quad stacker. Click "continue reading" below for the pictures.

A sad day in Dodgertown

The Durham Dodgers lost tonight by a score of a billion to not very many (36-8). Johnny Clark hit another grand slam. Tomorrow is our first birthing class. Four more episodes to go in season two of Lost. No spoilers in the comments please.

Remember the Vespa I said I made Brooklynne take a picture of? Here it is...

Orange Vespa! Rad!

In other news, I also mentioned the Johnny Clark hit a grand slam in the softball game the other night. Well, I didn't realize until today that his grand slam came as one of his four hits while going the cycle in the first game. That's setting the bar kind of high.

Happy birthday to my wife!

Brookie and her two favorite dependentsHappy 26th birthday to the woman who said she would marry me and then put up with me until death do us part (or as she says... until we're worm-dirt). Here is a picture from about two weeks ago showing off the growing lump under her dress, and her best furry friend. Her birthday was actually yesterday, but I've been unable to post from deep woods of central Tennessee. We're on our way back to civilization, so I'll give some more news over the next few days.

In a separate note, after week one, the Durham Dodgers are 1-0 with a rainout and a 25 to 7 victory over Summit Church. Larry Travis was the winning pitcher and Johnny hit a grand slam, the first homer of the season. Our family/friends softball season lasts until Oct. 16th or so, and I'll try to post some stats during the course of the season.

Brooklynne and I are hanging out in the land of Billy Ray Cyrus this weekend. On Monday, we will be moving on to Crossville for the "Great Tennessee Turnout," Brooklynne's family reunion. For the trip, I invested in a Bill Monroe CD. Brooke has been great putting up with the music.

Bill Monroe

In other news, I saw an orange Vespa at the store the other night and I forced Brooke to take a picture of it as I drove by in the parking lot. Vespa is re-releasing its P150 model scooters in November. They are taking pre-orders now, so I need to find a job FAST!.

Also, the green and yellow design has lived its life and it is time for new colors. Suggestions?
