I feel old . . . I am old. On a positive note, as a grandpa, I can now return to taking naps in the afternoon!

BethAnn said:

Congratulations you guys! I was wondering if this was going to happen anytime soon! Parenthood is an awesome responsibility and is, well, awesome! All my best!!

BethAnn said:

Eagerly awaiting to see if Miles gets morning sickness and cravings like my hubby did. :)

Dad- YOU'RE NOT OLD!
You'll be a young stylish grandpa. The kind that all the kids hope for!

Elizabeth said:

Just so you know, you two better have your discipline strategies in Kona-level perfection because I, among others, am going to spoil your children like crazy! Can't wait!

(Keep the kids away from Dave though. He'll give them candy and sugary drinks that will rot their teeth for sure!)

Does the first kid get a Hines Ward or a Ben Roethlisberger jersey? (And don't tell me that a girl doesn't get one. You can put a bow in her hair.) I'm all in favor of your kids having cool clothes. Ask Bill why this is important!

Miles said:

If the baby is over 10 pounds and looks like a sausage with legs, we'll get him/her a Bettis jersey!

Miles said:

Why is a jersey w/bow important for girls, Bill?

tracy said:

if your kid isn't wearing a peppers' jersey then your kid just isn't cool...

Bill Green said:

Cool clothes are a must. I would stick with the classics. You know, things that will stay in style for a long time.

Someone said "It take a village to raise a child." Could they have been alluding to the idea that all the kids in the village wear the same clothes. It just gets passed from one to the next. I'm game.

I can see it now... The annual swap meet where everyone shows up with a garbage bag of kids clothes in hopes of finding next years treasures.

New to You!

Bill Green said:

Oh yeah the jersey with a bow. I remember that. One year, my mom pulled out the garbage bag full of clothes and yanked out a jersey with a bow attached to it. I said "Mom, I'm not wearing Elizabeth's clothes!" Turns out it was Miles' bag of clothes and that Elizabeth didnt wear a bow on her jersey. I think thats how the story goes...

What a day to be lurking!!! So happy for you both. Does anyone else at church know? I won't spoil your surprise. You two are going to make wonderful parents. God has surely blessed you richly. Will be praying for your little one.
Giant hugs around you both!!!!

I think Dave will be excited about providing the Peppers jersey! When he looks at what it costs maybe he will decide he can't afford candy.

Brooklynne said:

I think that this kid is going to have every sports jersy and/or outfit of every player and team that any of us has ever cared about. ha ha The list is getting long...

Congratulations!!! You'll love it!

I feel bad for Katy and Cory because I'm significantly older and by the time my clothes got to them, they were NOT cool. Hand-me-downs only work when they are either classics (good call on that, Bill!) or if they aren't too old. My clothes were just too old for especially Cory. Brooklynne will be happy to see this post because this fashion issue gives Dave and I incentive to keep the cousins not too far apart in age.

Brooklynne said:

Amen to that Elizabeth!!! The sooner the better! If we plan it right, 4 or 5 kids could wear a single outfit. ha ha ha
