Bono on his music/faith

| | Comments (8)

BonoI found this really interesting summary of Bono's recent interview in Rolling Stone Magazine. I haven't read the full article yet, but I think I'll pick it up next time I'm in the library. Very Interesting. What do you guys think of Bono?

Existentialpunk also recently posted a reference to last week's attempted pirating of a cruise ship off the coast of Somalia. Funny how the timing of this event seemed to mock my efforts to convince Brooke to take a long voyage with me in my sailing post of a few days ago!

He's one sexy pluralist ... though I don't know him well enough to know for sure.

He also has wicked awesome sunglasses.

Sorry, I made my comment before reading the article. Didn't realize that it was already stated that his sunglasses are awesome. My original comment stands, however. I'd say he's not an active pluralist, though. He is actively sexy (and I mean that in a non-sexual way), though.

The section on his faith is the third one.
Bono is one cool guy. I love his lyrics and I share his sunglasses fetish.

Also, we need to get Dad to read this and listen to some U2. A while back I was with him and we played that game where you have someone's name (famous) on your back and you ask questions to find out who you are. Dad was, of course, very smart, but his intelligence couldn't take him beyond his exposure. "I'm some kind of Irish musician, in a band???" Denise Friesen offered, "I have a crush on you!" But that didn't help either. We need to get mom and dad on some U2!

Awkward moment story from college:
On two different occasions with two different friends--
Bono's voice was streaming from a radio and I said to the person with me, "I LOVE U2!" But the other person heard, "I love you, too!" and looked at me like I was crazy...

Don't start your mom and dad with "Numb" or "Party Girl". Maybe something a little milder ... "In A Little While" from "All that You Can't Leave Behind" or "Staring at the Sun" from "Pop" and tell 'em it's the Beatles ... oops ... oh, wait ... they read this. Did Elizabeth and I collectively just make seven comments. Boy, we need to go to a blogging manners course ... by the way, "Boy" is U2's first album now isn't it.

Miles, Mom and Grandmother just got a lesson about Bono. They now know to pronounce his name Bon-o, not Bo-no, as in Sonny Bono!
