We've plugged in to apple

ipod nanoOur family has finally plugged in to apple by setting up Brooklynne's ipod nano that I got her for her birthday. We've had the nano for weeks now, but we had been too busy to learn how to use it. But last night, we took the time to load 300+ songs and even experiment with buying songs from itunes. Brooklynne's selections:

Casting Crowns, Who am I?
Rolling Stones, It's only rock n' roll (but I like it)
Rolling Stones, Miss You.

The choice of the Stones was appropriate because Thursday is the concert in Charlottesville. After scrolling through their discography on itunes, I doubt anyone can argue with my belief that the Stones are one of the three best bands in history (along with the Beatles and U2). Comments anyone?

Anyway, I got the ipod for Brooklynne because I knew she would love it. But there are practical considerations as well. We've done a good job of getting in a routine of working out, and the ipod is much easier to use while running than a cd player. Since the ipod nano is essentially a flash drive, Brooklynne can also conveniently transport yearbook files from work to home and back. And I confess--I'm looking forward to borrowing it to experiment with podcasting... one more way to waste time!

I would agree that those three are among the best of all time. I have been disappointed with U2 lately and need to give their new album a new chance again (for the 6th time). Not one of the greatest, but the latest Coldplay album is in my opinion the album that U2 should ahve made. While I'm only commenting on U2, let me give my top 5 U2 albums in order (not necessarily quality, but the ones I like best):
5.) Rattle & Hum
4.) War
3.) The Joshua Tree
2.) Achtung Baby
1.) All that You Can't Leave Behind.

Those definitely are 3 good bands, but if you're gonna limit it to those 3, you're really pushing out one of the greatest musical minds of our time....Rick James.

Evan got me an iPod for my bday and I bought my first iTune on Monday. It was David Wilcox "Blow 'Em Away." I love it - I am not sure it has quite caught on with anyone else, but hey.

Kelly, That is awesome... I love my nano. It's so cute. Which one did Evan get you? They all have their pluses and minuses, but I am glad that Miles got me the nano.
