Weight: 10lbs. 13oz.

I took him to his one-month doctor appointment today... 10lbs 3 oz and 22 1/2 inches long. This boy is growing like a weed! Maybe he got some of Uncle Ben's tall genes afterall.

We saved some hair and she got a little certificate to add to the baby book. They gave her this little card that looked like a credit card and at the end of the time, she put the card in this little slot and it shot out a sucker and a little toy; she LOVED that part.

Oh yeah, we went to this place in Briar Creek called Snip Its, it is a salon for kids (as you can see from the decor) and the lady who cut her hair was GREAT! I highly reccomend Snip Its if you have one in your area (they are a chain).

Halleigh has adjusted well, so far, to being a sister; only a few bumps so far.  She is a little mommy, she loves Beau, and tells everyone that he is HER baby Beau. It's great; I hope they always love each other like this.

I am tired, sore, and start to panic everytime I think about my mom leaving... but I am loving every minute of it. ha ha ha

What great practice though, and it is so great that she likes books! 

Here is what I found when I came to the front of the house this morning...

We have a big weekend ahead of us filled with friends and family, we are excited.

To celebrate Miles' birthday, Halleigh and I went to the Durham Bulls FanFest today, with Ashley, Jack, and Louisa. It is a beautiful day today and we had to take advantage of the nice weather and GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!

Below are some pictures of our morning out. I originally was VERY excited to get Halleigh's picture with the Bulls' mascot "Wool E. Bull" but she had a total meltdown when she saw him and wanted nothing to do with him... it was an Easter Bunny incident all over again.

There was a gas line leak/ explosion this morning on Main Street in Bozeman. It took out three historic buildings and damaged several others... it is sad to see them gone!

We miss Bozeman... a lot, and try to keep up with news, and this has consumed me today.

They don't know yet how many people were injured, but with such devastation, surely there were some. There are a few people missing, the fire is still burning and they are having trouble searching through the rubble due to the unsafe conditions of the buildings and the fire. The good thing is that it happened at around 8:15am, so hopefully there weren't that many people out and about.

One thing that I am excited about is that I am thinking of braiding a rug.  I have been thinking about it for a while now and have read about it and I think that it sounds really fun. I'll keep you posted as to my progress. On my to-do list today was to go and get the two books that the library has on braiding rugs, but Halleigh wasn't cooperating and we needed to come home and eat lunch and take a nap, so that will get pushed back until tomorrow.

In other news, I am starting to get a little stressed out about all the shuffling around that we are going to have to do to fit another kid in this house. I am thinking that if we don't start soon we are going to be in a situation like when Halleigh was born, where very little had gotten done and Miles played a lot of catch up while I was still in the hospital.

She looked at me and said, "Potty Train? Choo... choo!"

Not exactly what I was looking for, but we're working on it.

The Living Cookbook, this thing is awesome. It is a recipe management computer program.  It is going to take quite a bit of work to set it up and customize it so that it is at its peak usefulness, but after watching all of the tutorials, I am very excited about all that this thing can do.

Here is a picture of one of my favorite Christmas gifts.... a sonicare toothbrush.

I have wanted an electric toothbrush for a long time, and know several people who have and love their sonicare toothbrushes.  My friend Mary told me that it revolutionized her oral health, and I am all about oral health (except flossing, that is where I draw the line... I know it is going to shorten my life-span by six years, but whatever!).

I tried it for the first time last night and I thought I was going to die before I got to all of my teeth. Not only did I keep touching my other teeth with the hard part of my toothbrush (read: scratching nails down the chalkboard multiplied by a thousand, feeling), but it tickled so bad that I couldn't see straight. It was horrible! When I finally finished, I had toothpaste EVERYWHERE, and my lips felt like they were still vibrating long after the brushing was over.  Miles on the other hand, also got one (even though he didn't covet it like I did), and he looked like a pro and only had slight lip-vibrating discomfort.  I think I need to read the instructions again.

I got up this morning and tried it again, and it was a little better, I kept my mouth wide open so as not to touch the toothbrush to my other teeth (just thinking about that horrible feeling is giving me goose bumps!).  I must say that it is going to take a large effort on my part to get used to this crazy toothpaste flinging, whole head vibrating, gut wrenching, gum tickling toothbrush! Mary, how do you do it?!?!?!
