Happy Halloween!

Halloween.jpgThe costume is done, the plans are made... this is starting to look like it is going to be a very fun day.

I'll post pictures of our little kitty tomorrow. I don't want to ruin the surprise for people who are going to see her tonight.

Halloween Costume

black cat.jpgHalleigh is going to be a black cat.  I haven't started the costume... I am a slacker, I know. I just can't make myself do it. I am feeling totally uninspired to make this stupid costume. UGH!

I just had to tell someone...

I voted.

We went over to Duke this afternoon and voted. It was pretty anti-climactic. I feel like voting on Election Day has a electric charge around it that early voting just doesn't have. Bummer.

Miles hadn't registered to vote yet, so we had to go early.  North Carolina will let you register and vote at the same time if you do early voting.

I, too, voted for Barack Obama. I voted for Dub-Ya last time, and after being slapped in the face for the last four years, enough is enough!

Happy Birthday IMR!

This is what Halleigh wanted to wear today. Actually, the shorts she could take or leave, but it was a must to wear the kitty shirt Grandma Cummings gave her and her boots... more about the boots later.  As for the pepper, when we were outside playing today, she found the pepper in a pile of leaves and thought it was the coolest thing she had ever found. How that pepper got from the backyard to the front AND into a pile of leaves, I will never know.

I hope that all parents think this about their own kids, because almost daily I think to myself, "How did I get so lucky to be able to raise this child?!?"

Then again, also on a daily basis, I think I need a vacation from you!

Being a mom is a lesson in contradiction.
