Pilates

After reading my previous entry about working out, my dear sister-in-law, Kelly asked me how it was going. Since I haven't been but two other times since writing that post, I sort of laughed it off telling her about all of my excuses for not going.

Not wanting to leave Halleigh at the day-care area, hating to shower multiple times in a day, etc. I really appreciate Kelly, she is so much like a sister to me.  She says what she thinks and is so honest and open about herself. Anyway, to make a long story short we decided that we would start going to a Pilates class at the Y that is on Monday's and Wednesday's.  I am so excited about this, as she will hold me accountable and two times a week, at least, I will get a good work out in. If she expects me to be there, I can't let her down!

I told Miles this, and we are going to work it out so that he meets me at the Y and takes Halleigh home.  This is great, as a side note, because it will give Halleigh and Miles time to spend together just by themselves; dads and daughters need that.  And the days that he can't or other days that I want to work out, I am getting over my day-care fear and am going try it again... I deserve a little "me" time a couple times a week!

While you're at pilates, Halleigh and I will dust off the Yoga video we bought 2 or 3 years ago.

Hey girl!
I go to the Y 5 days a week and LOVE it!! Elijah loves the child watch--he gets to play with kids of all ages and it is great. He knows almost everyone's name. Our trick was finding a time when it wasn't very crowded. We go from 8-9:30am. It works great because I end up only having to take one shower a day.

I was wondering if you could email me or comment on my blog what Halleigh's schedule is. When and what she eats, her naps etc. Elijah is down to sleeping maybe 8 hours total in a 24 hour period--with nothing longer than a 1.5 hour stretch and I am about to die!! I was hoping to some inspiration to try and tweak things so that he will sleep a little bit longer. I don't know if I can handle him and the new one if this is all he going to sleep! I am getting so desperate!

Thanks!!

I feel your pain. I too have EXTREME guilt about the daycare at the gym. But I just can't shake my icky feeling about leaving the kids in there, so I guess I'll just have to be fat.

So I have left Halleigh at the gym's day-care area a couple times and then the last time I came back to find her with a communal toy in her mouth (read, horribly filthy) and about 13 inches from the TV! We DO NOT allow her to watch TV, let alone that close! There were 60 billion kids in the room and only three workers... I just couldn't bring myself to taking her back.
But like Covey said, I need to try again at a less busy time.

Thanks for your advice on the sleeping. EJ is in his crib alone at night and does well putting himself to sleep--thank goodness he can't climb out yet! He doesn't cry when we put him down for the night. His problem seems to be staying asleep. We let him cry as much as we can but he gags and throws up over everything if we let him go much longer than a minute or two :( He is one stubborn monkey!!

Is there a church close by that you trust enough to take Halleigh to a Mother's Morning Out kind of thing for an hour? That's what I used to do with Daniel when he was about Halleigh's age & not old enough for preschool.
